I started out as a technical person. After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science degree, and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Master of Science degree, I worked as a computer programmer, and then as a Web site designer and producer.
My interest in wholistic healing started several years ago, when a beloved cat got seriously sick and modern medicine could not help him. I studied herbs, homeopathy, and crystals. I “discovered” Reiki in 2001, and was attuned to the first level of Reiki in March 2002. This event led to the beginning of my spiritual awakening, and marked the beginning of my personal healing journey.
Reiki also unleashed my creativity, and I started creating suncatchers and jewelry out of beads and healing stones.
In November 2004, after getting many hints from the universe, I realized that I am meant to be a healer in this life, and became a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui and Raku Kei systems of Reiki. I learned at the same time to incorporate other healing symbols, and energy-clearing sounds and breaths into my work.
I left the corporate world in 2005 to devote my time fully to Reiki and jewelry.
In 2007 I got another opportunity to grow spiritually: breast cancer. This traumatic experience helped me to further open my heart, to become stronger as a person, to enjoy life more, and to enhance my creativity.
In 2011 I added Access Consciousness® to my repertoire. I became an Access Consciousness® Bars Facilitator the following year. I also practice Access Consciousness® Body Processes and the Access Consciousness® Energetic Facelift™, and for several years have facilitated classes in these subjects as well.
I expanded my healing toolbox with the amazing Tong Ren therapy in 2014, the Body Channel therapy in 2015, and Tui Na (Chinese bodywork) in 2016.
I live in Raleigh, NC with my cat Bisi.
My gratitude goes to my healers and spiritual teachers: Carrie Bodane, Donna Spring Gulick, Mary Mooney, Vickie Penninger, Dr. Ellen Tinsley, Dr. Julianne Trell, Elizabeth Tuttle, Eleanor Marks, and Tom Tam. Not only did they teach me about healing per se, but they also taught me how to live life more fully and to open my heart. Without their wisdom, their help, their support and their love, my life would have been very different.
I would also like to thank everyone with whom I had had difficulties, for they have been the impetus for me to grow and to learn.
